A difficult drive to keep on the fairway as you are angling across this dogleg from the tee - ideally a slight draw up the right side is the shot. Then you are faced with a stroke to the green that is foreshortened by the bank and the bunkers on the left - do not be fooled, check your distance and take enough club.
"After winning the Open Golf Championship in 1949 at Royal St Georges, it seemed natural to return to Deal where, but for the invasion of the sea I would have competed that year. It's one of the great links in the British Isles and, as it proved, also a wonderful place to spend a honeymoon."
Bobby Locke
Open Champion 1949, 1950, 1952, 1957
